What an enjoyable film Saltburn was! I feel that I put-off watching it for far too long, assuming it was going to be a lot harder to enjoy than it was.
It’s fair to say that the “big reveal” (which was dramatic irony, right?) was a little ham-fisted, but the characters benefitted from it. I’ve also heard comments that a few of the scenes felt as if they were shock for shocks sake, which I’m torn on – for the audience perhaps, but for the characters they felt totally valid, and I feel that this is very much a character lead film; they add levels of Oliver’s obsession.
Anyhow, the movie, set in the 2000’s had a great soundtrack. The much commented Murder On The Dancefloor ending rounds off a somewhat obvious, but also fitting slice of chart-dance – which inspired me to put the above together. Just a short mix of music from the film, consisting of:
- MGMT – Time To Pretend
- Ladytron – Destroy Everything You Touch
- Benny Benassi – Satisfaction
- David Guetta x Mason x Princess Superstar – Perfect (Exceeder)
- Tomcraft – Loneliness
- Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Murder On The Dancefloor
I think the ordering of the tracks kind of follows the narrative of the film somewhat. So hey, if you enjoy, then great 🙂
